Batik is more than cloth. It is a language — how generation after generation tells its prayers, hopes, and life stories through wax, canting, and colour. For us, batik is work that cannot be rushed: every motif line asks for a steady hand and a patient mind.
At the Batik Soehadi atelier we produce batik tulis, batik cap, and the two combined. Every length of cloth passes through a long process — from nyanting and dyeing to nglorod — before it earns its place in your collection.

Atelier & Process
Four stages, one patience
Every cloth we produce passes through the same stages — done slowly, without haste.
Ngecap
For batik cap, the motif is stamped with warmed copper blocks, yielding precise patterns.
Dyeing
The cloth is soaked and painted with colour repeatedly until the tone reaches the desired depth.
Nglorod
The wax is boiled and washed away, revealing the hidden motif before the cloth is finished and pressed.
